Average age of a car at the national level?

Why are there more cars in the old central part of northern France and Canada? If you go no way, it is not uncommon to see many cars that are 20 years and over around the pipe. And what's with all the old collection trucks? They have all kinds of old trucks Ford and Chevrolet.
