The best way to restore the ancient marble?

I have a small antique table (about 8 meters) consisting of two layers of black whirlpool gray and white marble. It's boring, slightly scratched, stained and has a 2 "x 3" area is recorded. The pieces of wood and the legs are inlaid with mother of pearl of the pieces that appear when the table moves, even over short distances. I have no idea what the stained table as we have acquired in this state. I just made a tin oxide paste, and using a pen with a low speed orbital sander. I would be happy to have a matte finish, with a slight sheen. You think I'm really sharpen or dull marble might above process followed by the use of a sealant and polished marble good enough? I know this is going to be the best estimate without being able to see the state. Appreciate any advice you could give me. Will

Go to Home Depot and buy GEL-GLOSS. It is next to the toilets and bathtubs. Apply as wax and polish cars. Http: / / www.acehardware.com/product/index.jsp?productId=3171761 comes in a box in the Home Depot and is a cleaner-polish and rejuvinator. Do not make the spray.
