Axis Shift or Axial Age Ii?
While I do not disagree with Karl Jaspers on his Axial age premise (800-200BCE), I believe there is an even greater promise found in that era which is within a 50 year period (600-550BCE) that encourages me as to how fast things can happen. If the human consciousness was increased as much as it was in 50 years (2,500+ years ago), just think what advances in consciousness we might come to anticipate with such communications, internet, and mind realities that we’ve come to embrace today. We are headed to and in the beginning throes of a most miraculous and marvelous era.
We are also faced with a potential axis shift. They do happen you know. And, it’s in our best interest to heighten our understanding of ourselves, and our galaxy, as fast as we can.
What I call the heart of the axis age, happened in a condensed axial age period of just 50 years.
Who has not heard of Buddha, Sappho, Confucius, Lao-Tzu, Jeremiah, Ezekiel, Thespis, Isaiah, Mahavira, Zoroaster, Pythagoras, Nebuchadnezzar, Thales, and Anaximander to name a few. You may not know all those names and for those that you don’t, look them up. Each individual had a great impact on how we saw and see the world in such categories as religion, philosophy, mathematics, art, theatre, and the like.
Amazing men!
They brought to our world massive, unique, and profound ways of seeing the ourselves and interpreting our world. A major spiritual awakening was birthed throughout the world: from China, to India, and on to the Middle East. Thales shocked the world with his prediction of an eclipse in 585. Pythagoras was much more than a mathematician. He was the founder of the religious movement and often revered as a great mystic and scientist.
Thespis of Icaria is claimed to be the first person ever to appear on stage as an actor in a play, although the reality is undoubtedly more complex. And it is his name from which offer the Thespian Awards today. Nebuchadnezzar restored ever temple in the kingdom and turned what was known as the then known “western world” upside down. And it’s not just what all these men DID, but what they unearthed for those that followed them to pursue.
I don’t have the “names” of great people to put forth for this coming era; however, they are there. But most importantly, I believe that we are looking at a “collective consciousness” hat is arising that will make Axial Age II different than the initial age 2,500 years ago. Times they are a changing. The water in the kettle has been rising ever so slowly that few realize what’s happening.
Everyone is so tied to the internet and yet it did not exist two decades ago. What would we do without email which has only been the replacement for the likes of mail and telephone in the last decade? And who among us remembers that antique called a typewriter, now that we have computers? These are culturally altering innovations in just the last few years and they are the fuel of consciousness and spiritual changes coming in the next five.
May we not see a physical axis shift, but an axis (axial) era of super-charged consciousness!
