Are There Any Antique Jewellery Experts Out There ?

I have a big wedding anniversary coming up and I am looking for a jewellery set similar to the one my wife’s grandmother used to own.

I the past she described it as a broach, bracelet and earring set that with a small screw driver so that the broach could be dismantled and parts added to the earrings (to make them longer) and the bracelet (to make it into a necklace).

If anyone knows what a set like this would be called i would be very grateful.

I highly doubt that you can get such a set from any jewellery retailer, unless you invest a considerable amount of time hunting estate jewellery auctions/sales. It’s also unclear what kind of jewellery your wife’s grandmother used to own? Was it fine jewellery (gold, platinum, diamonds) or costume jewellery (semi precious stones, silver) or pearl jewellery?

Here are two companies, which offer multifunctional jewellery:

1. Pearl jewellery (Bobijou)
This company offers a line of “Multi Look Multi Functional” pearl jewellery, which can be worn in different ways. For example, the bracelets can be transformed into a necklace and so on. However, I don’t think they have brooches and they don’t accept bespoke orders.

2. Fine jewellery (Fameo)
This company makes a lot of art-deco and retro bridal fine jewellery sets. Last year they won an award for the best British Bridal Jewellery Collection. Bracelets can be attached to the necklace (to make it longer) and earrings can be adjusted too. I am not sure if a brooch can be attached anywhere though. But, they do accept bespoke orders, so you might want to chat with them about your specific needs.
