how can i tell if my ring is actually white gold rather than silver? or is it platinium? it’s an antique.?

i bought it in Austria and it’s got a diamond in it (it’s my engagement ring…) i had assumed that it was white gold becasue that’s what they said in the shop but i’ve been wearing it with my ‘new’ white gold wedding ring for a 18months and the wedding ring is going a bit yellowy whereas the engagemement ring is still bright silver-coloured…. could this mean that it’s actually silver? or is it just better quality white gold that my wedding ring? please help – i don’t want to send it away to get valued in case they lose it!

if it is gold, it should have a stamp on it, on the inside of the rink either a 10k/14k/18k/22k/24k/ depending on what grade of k it is, i have had 10k and 24k, 24k is the soffest as it will bend etc really easy, so to answer your question, look for the stamp with “k” and if it isnt there….you got ripped off.
