I need some help with a possible antique?

While going through a few things that my mother bought at a family auction we came across a Leather case containing some keys that belonged to my Great Grandfather. I love it more than anything else that my mother bought that day but I don’t know enough about it. Could you possibly tell me what its ACTUALLY called (I’ve been calling it a key thing ) and possibly how old it is? Here are links to some pictures.
